Event Marketing Tips: Put your Speaker Content to Work
)
“Content is king”, and has the ability to draw people to us, create opportunities, and eventually convert followers and subscribers into event visitors.
Event marketers’ time is split between so many elements of their event marketing mix, from visprom and exprom email campaigns, updating the website, coordinating the agenda, to promoting their exhibitors and speakers. There is often little to no time left for non-essential content during the times between shows.
But if you’ve hosted events, you already have a wealth of content you can use. Did you know that you can create at least 20 pieces of additional content from just one speaker interview? The hard work your speakers have put into delivering an insightful presentation should be utilised pre- and post-event.
Here is how:
1. Cut your full-length conference session videos into snackable social media videos
Your speakers are covering relevant topics about industry trends and predictions as well as personal experiences and case studies which can serve an audience beyond your event attendees.
Use any videos you have from the show’s conference or videos you’ve asked your speakers to submit before the event and cut these into shorter clips perfect for social media.
2. Turn the audio from your sessions into podcasts
Conference sessions which are filmed can get their audiences extracted and shared as podcasts. You can reach so many new followers on podcasts platforms such as iTunes, Spotify, Anchor etc.
3. Record the sessions and offer them as on-demand webinars
You can use the full-length show videos or Zoom recordings from virtual events and share them as on-demand webinars or even mini courses. If you haven’t recorded the full sessions, you can use the PowerPoint slides and add a voice over later.
4. Make infographics and social graphics out of your speaker’s insights
People love easy-to-scan information. Event promotion isn’t any different. Infographics with key numbers, trends and forecasts are very engaging and can utilise your speakers’ insights. These can easily be made into Canva images by your social media team.
5. Write blog posts based on your speaker Q&A’s
You’ve likely collated your visitors’ most burning questions on site using platforms such as Slido (or an inbox). Your moderators may have recorded some of these too. If you’ve documented the whole session, you can extract the Q&A’s and turn them into an interview for a blog post. If you’ve hosted the event online, it’s even easier to do on Zoom by transcribing the recordings and exporting the notes.
Event marketing and content marketing can be much more efficient than you think! Repurposing content is a fantastic way to save yourself valuable time which can be invested elsewhere.
